“To regard beauty as a luxury adornment or a social signifier was to miss the true potential of the experience.” I think when Armstrong says this he means that we can’t just look at beauty and take it for granted. When we really see something beautiful we shouldn’t just look at it and look away. We should look at it with a purpose and figure out how it really makes you feel. I view beauty as most people do I feel like. When I see something that really makes me feel a special way inside I will probably stop and stare, maybe even take a picture. For my community I will use the football team because I have spent more hours with these guys than anyone since I have been up at school. Most people probably think “oh a bunch of football guys they don’t know anything about beauty”. To me that’s one of the greatest things about beauty, because we’re all on this team together we may see things as beautiful as others may not. For example if we are running a play all week struggling to get it done and when we finally run it to perfection a lot of people on the team see that as beautiful.
