Annotating the text and reading through it a second time was very benfical to me. When I read it the second time I went in more confidently. Talking about it in class today really answered a lot of questions and concerns I had with the text. I went into the reading with a better understanding and when I was confused I utilized websites like dictionary.com to help me with words that I struggled to understand. Also, the first time I read through I had specifically highlighted some parts that I did not quite understand so it was good to go back and re read over those. Overall, decoding the text has a lot of benefits for me and my reading. When I decode the text I feel like not only am I gaining a better understanding but getting the most out of my reading time.
